Wake up and smell the coffee Mr Sawyer. It's about time people of the borough knew exactly what is happening at Barnet FC scaremongering indeed.

Who is going to line up and financially support the club when Tony Kleanthous decides he has had enough? As for your quote, with the goodwill and co-operation of the new council and local residents, the club should be able to improve its existing 100-year-old ground, including the building of a new 6,000-seat stand, provided it has the money.'

Again, you are dreaming. They may squeeze in the seats just to remain

a viable club in playing terms but where do you put improved facilities? Underground, maybe.

It doesn't change the fundamental problem that Barnet FC cannot survive on gate receipts alone. It needs better facilities for the players, staff and indeed its supporters. It also needs better facilities to attract corporate sponsorship.

If the club leaves, you suggest a swimming pool, tennis courts, a

gymnasium or more playing fields.

Yes, this borough needs better facilities but not at the expense of a football club that has been around and on its present site longer than you or I.

As for residents suffering unacceptable aggravation and congestion, is it not true that Underhill and the surrounding infrastructure supported over 11,000 football fans a few years ago. If the infrastructure was good enough then, it's good enough now.
