Shaftesbury Barnet recorded a fine victory in round four of the Southern League Division One at Garon Park, Southend.
Pick of the athletes was Andy Hughes who had a convincing double in the 100m (11.3sec) and 200m (22.9sec). Matthew Skelton won the 1500m (4min.3sec), with first placings for Andy Colvin in the 3,000m steeplechase (9min 52sec) and Nick Fogg in the hammer with Jason Moseley, Martin Taylor, Andi Knight and Hughes taking the 4x100m relay in 42.1sec. The next meeting is at Bromley on July 13.
Shaftesbury Barnet Juniors finished a creditable runners-up for the second week running to Enfield & Haringey.
A good all-round performance was capped by wins for Tom Bedford in the 1500m (3min 59sec), Daniel Lewis in the 2,000m steep ch (6min 5sec) and Sean Carson in the javelin (58.99m).
Shaftesbury's next fixture is at Croydon on July 28 with the fourth and final round taking place at Walthamstow on August 18.
