Ealing 199-9 Stanmore 200-8
Middlesex County League Division One
Stanmore, still reeling from last week's ten-point deduction, put the disappointment behind them with a convincing display away to Ealing on Saturday.
The highlight of Ealing's batting was a half-century from Rajesh Rao but Stanmore's Dhammika Praffad cleaned up with a 17-over spell of 5-49, demolishing the home side's attack.
In reply, Stanmore's Sri Lankan contingent took command, with captain Wijefuriya making 40.
Navinder Samakaroon added a further 45 to make the game safe.
Stanmore secretary John Carter said: "I think we were always in command, even though Ealing thought they might snatch it.
"We have got some really top-class players this year and hopefully we can go on from here."
On Sunday Stanmore played Harrow in the National Knock-Out Cup and made a solid 232-5 (Morrison 67, Brooker 89). In reply Harrow were bowled out for 170.
Next Saturday Stanmore entertain Wembley, while on Sunday, they travel to Bexley, Kent, in the next round of the national cup.
