SARACENS' reinforcement of their front row continued yesterday (Tuesday) with the capture of New Zealand-born prop Johnny Marsters on a two-year-deal.
The 29-year-old, signed from Swansea, joins Joe Ross and Christian Califano in a new-look front three for the men in black next season.
Having worked under new head coach Wayne Shelford for three years at North Harbour, the lure of linking up again with the All Black legend was too much to resist for the versatile Marsters.
"I was looking at signing for Swansea for another couple of seasons when I heard that Wayne (Shelford) was coming to the UK," explained Marsters.
"Basically, with me knowing Wayne as a coach and him knowing me as a player we got talking and he played a big part in me coming to the club. "
