A YOUNG pupil of a Watford primary school returned home accompanied by a life-size Pooh Bear last week, after completing the Aldenham Country Park's Hunny Trail.
James Rowe, aged six, of Watford Field Infants School, in Neal Street, Watford, participated in the event alongside his classmates.
It was held at the park in Butterfly Lane, Aldenham, on Thursday, June 20, as part of its Walks and More summer programme.
The cuddly toy was awarded to the enthusiastic pupil after he completed a nature trail set up in the park's 100 Aker Wood.
Youngsters were required to find clues to Pooh Bear's lost 'hunny', and answer questions about the fictional favourite and his friends along the way.
Manager of Aldenham Country Park Mr Graham Phillips said: "100 Aker Wood is always especially popular with the children who come along to the park.
"It's great to bring it alive for them by running this kind of event.
"It gives them the chance to run around and enjoy the main attractions we have on offer while also showing off their knowledge of Milne's stories."
Year One class teacher, Miss Rebecca Corrigan, said: "I am delighted that James has been awarded this prize.
"Events such as this are a great way of raising an encouraging children to become more involved with wildlife while also raising their awareness of the local area, which we have been closely studying in class."
