LOCAL dignitaries and other VIP guests will be privy to the designs and creations set to take centre stage at a schools textile exhibition which opens at the Galleria in Hatfield on Monday, July 1.
The Hertfordshire 2002 Schools and Textiles in Industry Network (Satin) exhibition includes the creative design work of students from 15 schools throughout the county, including Bushey Hall and Garston Manor.
The exhibition is the fourth of its kind staged by Satin and run by Hertfordshire Education Business Partnership (HEPB). This year it follows the theme of the Commonwealth Games.
The HEPB is part of Hertfordshire Careers Service which promotes partnerships between schools and businesses.
A range of hats, fashion and millinery designs will be previewed by guests at the launch on Monday before the the exhibition is open to the public on Tuesday at 10am.
HEPB manager Ms Menna Easton said: "The Satin exhibition represents many of the ideals which underpin our role.
"It illustrates the inspirational, innovative potential that can be achieved through the creation of partnerships with local business."
The exhibition coincides with the HEBP's tenth anniversary.
