WATFORD have distanced themselves from speculation in a national newspaper that they were about to make caretaker manager Ray Lewington's role permanent because they had been rejected by Peter Taylor and Steve Coppell.
Chief executive Tim Shaw said he would not "comment on individual people named", but again stressed there were a number of people the board would seek to interview for the vacant post.
