Young bands were given the chance to show their talent when they hit the stage as part Town Festival celebrations on Sunday.
Five local bands played to a 70-strong audience at Boreham Wood Football Club, in Broughinge Road, at the Live Bands Gig Night.
The musicians were mostly under the age of 25 and The Pulse kick-started the evening covering songs by The Who and Oasis.
They were followed by by Silver Haze, playing their own material, before The Gift took slowed down the tempo.
The final two bands were Scarf, covering Radiohead, and Stifla, who had a lively set of covers and original songs.
Paul Welsh, entertainments officer at Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, which organises the festival, said: "It is very difficult for unknown, local bands to get places to play, but they want to occasionally get out of the garage and play to somebody else, and listen to other bands."
