The volunteer-manager who has doubled sales at Borehamwood's Oxfam shop is leaving because of a lack of volunteers. Maggie Kerton, who has worked at the shop for six years and been manager for a year and a half, is leaving because of the pressures of covering shifts for which she has had no volunteers. Ms Kerton said she was sorry to be leaving the Shenley Road shop.

f=GillSans GREAT EFFORT:o Borehamwood's firefighters have collected more than 12,500 Tesco Computers for Schools vouchers, and handed them to Summerswood Primary School in Furzehill Road. The vouchers can be exchanged for new computer equipment.

f=GillSans SKIN ADVICE:o Hertsmere Primary Care Trust is warning people to be careful about skin cancer in the sun. The number of cases of skin cancer in Britain has doubled in the last 20 years, and children are the most at risk.
