Colourful clowns, dancers and musicians brought a carnival atmosphere to Shenley Road at the weekend for the Borehamwood Community Fair.
The fair, which took place outside All Saints Church on Saturday, featured 28 stalls hosted by a variety of community and voluntary organisations.
Entertainments included a jazz band, songs from Hertsmere Acoustic Music Club, morris dancers, a bouncy slide and children's face painting.
The fair was organised by two members of Borehamwood Town Centre Panel, Ben Godliman, from Borehamwood Community Partnership (BCP), and Morgan Edwards, of MA Wash-Vac.
Mr Godliman, the BCP's community regeneration worker, said: "The idea was to give local organisations the chance to raise awareness about their work and make it a bit of fun day."
He was delighted so many organisations had taken part, and that passers-by had taken such an interest in the stalls that they hosted.
Organisations represented on the day ranged from Elstree and Borehamwood Museum and primary schools to Borehamwood Baptist Church and Elstree's Penniwells Riding Centre for the Disabled. The Community Fair was funded partly by the BCP's Community Chest Fund and Borehamwood Town Centre Panel. The Jim Phillips Jazz Band entertains shoppers at the fair in Shenley Road
