A-LEVEL economics and business students of a secondary school in Kings Langley have obtained a place in the finals of a national business challenge.
Natalie Gray, Mahmood Riaz, Kimberley Ryan and Matthew Stokes The Slammin FM team - of Kings Langley school in Love Lane, Kings Langley, successfully fought off stiff competition from 10 teams representing schools throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland, in the ACCA Business Challenge 2002.
The finalists were required to participate in a business simulation based around a radio station for which they were asked to develop a fanancial strategy and by making business decisions over several rounds compete to run the most profitable station.
They then carried out a presentation on their ideas in front of a panel of judges.
The Slammin FM team will be accompanied to the final held in London on Tuesday, July 9 by business and economics teacher, Ms Helen Yates, who is said to be delighted with the quality of work they have produced for this competition to date and has high hopes for their success both with the final and their AS results in August.
