A SPECIAL meeting was held between Kings Langley Parish Councillors and a Highways project manager on Wednesday, July 3, to discuss ways to improve the road safety.
The meeting focused on Junction 20/ M25 roundabout, also known as the Hemel Hempstead to Watford Gateway.
On Wednesday, July 3, Kings Langley Parish Councillors, Mr Alan Anderson, Mr Gerry Angiolini, and Mrs Sheila Satterwaite, met with Mr Adam Joseph, operations directorate for The Highways Agency.
Mr Anderson said: "Although I cannot discuss the full details at present, the meeting went very well.
"Mr Joseph from the Highways Agency seemed prepared to listen to us, to our concerns about the roundabout which leads to Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, and the M25.
"He seemed keen to find ways to improve the road system and traffic flow."
He said the positive aspects of the meeting was the plans to change the traffic lights at the roundabout so they operated for 24 hours, and to re-align the road lines.
Chairman of King Langley Parish Council, Councillor Gerry Angiolini, echoed Mr Anderson. He said: "We first had a meeting with The Highways Agency in August, last year.
"We told them the roundabout was not safe, we said drivers coming from Watford to Kings Langley, seemed to get cut up on the roundabout."
He said the only drawback of the meeting was that the Highways Agency would not indicate when the work would be carried out.
A Highways spokesman, said: "We are working together with Kings Langley Parish Council to look at safety measures and improve safety at the junction."
