A REVAMP is planned for shops in Carpenders Park, it was announced at the end of February.
General redecoration and maintenance work including installing new benches, bins and a cycle rack, will take place in the shopping parade at the bottom of Carpenders Avenue and Delta Gain.
Three Rivers District Council has also agreed to try and incorporate an idea from local councillor Pam Hames for a disabled parking bay to be installed outside the chemist, and for measures to ensure that illegal parking does not block the dropped kerbs in the area.
Councillor Hames said: "Inconsiderate parking here makes it dangerous for the elderly in their electric chairs, and parents with prams, to try and cross."
Libreral Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Watford, Sal Brinton, praised the decision to regenerate the shopping area. She said: "I am pleased that the council is delivering what residents want, and is investing in Carpenders Park, and I am sure that everyone will welcome the planned improvements to the area."
