A BUSHEY girl has stepped her way into the final of a national dancing competition.

Neha Agarwal, 16, has reached the last stage of Sony Entertainment Television's Boogie Woogie contest.

She will be strutting her stuff in the final on Sunday, February 27, in Finchley.

Neha has been a student at Honey's Dance Academy in Kingsbury for three years.

She said: "The preliminary round and semi-final were really tough and I am so pleased to have made it through to the final. The dance academy has been really supportive and has given me the opportunity and the confidence to perform to the best of my ability. I am really excited to have got this far."

Neha beat 400 other dancers in auditions to reach the final, where she will compete against 20 other budding stars.

If she takes top prize, she will participate in the international Boogie Woogie final.

Many winners have gone on to become professional choreographers, models and actors, and Neha is hoping the competition will help her waltz her way to a successful career.

Dance academy director Honey Kalaria has faith in Neha's ability.

She said: "We are all very proud of Neha, and what she has achieved, she has a lot of talent. Neha is among a number of students from the academy who entered the competition and it is amazing the majority of those have reached the final."

Neha, who studies Bollywood dance, recently started teacher training, taking on the role of assistant at the academy.

The Boogie Woogie competition can be seen on Sony Entertainment Television every Wednesday night at 8pm.
