A RACY poster advertising a ladies' night at Destiny Nightclub has been labelled "cheap and tasteless" because of its reference to extra-large male genitalia.
Shoppers were shocked to see the words "Huge Cock" proudly displayed on an advert for last weekend's exclusive night, which also promised naughty games and bedroom toys.
The poster, on a sandwich board outside the venue in The Parade, also showed a naked man covering his nether regions with his hands.
Destiny claim the poster was never intended for outside the club and have apologised for their error.
A spokesperson said: "A licensing officer came into see us and we have agreed it won't happen again.
"The poster should never have got outside and it was never intended to upset or offend anyone."
The spokesperson also said "Huge Cock" was the name of the dancer who was appearing at the night, which was run in association with Harmony, a sex shop opposite the club.
A spokesman for Harmony Adult Store said: "I did not see the poster until about two days before and I was just as gobsmacked by it.
"But on the other hand, this is 2005 and we are not stuck in the olden days anymore.
"We did not intend for it to be offensive."
Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "This poster was clearly wrong. Residents were right to complain and I thank them for doing so.
"A council licensing officer took swift action when alerted to the problem.
"I am glad that Destiny has acknowledged the poster was wrong for Watford."
