A SCHEME where revellers are escorted to their cars after a night out in Watford town centre will be expanded.
The Steward Scheme, first introduced two months ago, has proved such a success that it will be expanded throughout pubs and clubs in Watford.
Neil Campbell, manager of Baraka and Area, and chairman of the town's Pubwatch scheme, said "Over the last two months we have been overwhelmed by how popular the steward service has been. We have seen around six per cent of our customers using the service, that's around 30 to 40 people each night."
The service has been offered every night and works by customers approaching the door supervisors, who then contact the steward. The individual or group is then accompanied to their car, taxi or destination.
