COBUS VISAGIE is expecting an attritional encounter when Saracens take on Super 12 outfit the Cats in a friendly at Vicarage Road tonight (Wednesday).
The front-row titan, capped 29 time by the Springboks, has been denied the chance to pit his wits against his compatriots after being rested by Steve Diamond, but he will be briefing his team-mates on what to expect from Chester Williams' men.
"They will play much like we do," said the former Stormers prop. "They have a big forward pack and will kick the ball to the corners, and when the South African sides come over here they try and work on their driving game in northern hemisphere conditions. They won't throw the ball around like they do in Super 12."
"With the Stormers we had a very good record against the Lions (the regional side linked to The Cats that entertained Sarries in a friendly before the current term) but the Cats had a very good record over us in the Super 12.
"The Stormers would beat all the South African sides in the competition and then lose against the Cats, who would be the worst side in the competition. They have got one of those reputations as playing well on the day and their team is made to play on the highfeldt as they have good kickers."
