YEAR 11 pupils at Queens' School have been given mock interviews to prepare themselves for the working world.
During the last week of January, representatives from local businesses including Marks and Spencer, Asda, Tesco, BT, Kodak and John Lewis, visited the school to conduct interviews.
The students had to dress appropriately, prepare a cv and have a 25 minute interview where they were asked about themselves, their talents and career ambitions.
One guest interviewer was Watford Mayor Dorothy Thornhill, who used to teach at the school in Bushey.
PSE co-ordinator, Adele Taylor, who organised the week, said the interview practice was beneficial for the pupils.
She said: "It is good for them because it teaches them about the working world. Some of them were nervous but relaxed once they got into it and all were given five minutes feedback at the end of their interview.
"It is also good for the companies as it gives them a chance to talent scout and give something back to the community."
