WORKERS are being urged to swap their usual office attire for something out of the ordinary later this month for the second Dress Down Day.
The event, beind held in aid of the Peace Hospice, will take place on Friday, January 28.
Already many local businesses, shops and schools from all areas of South West Hertfordshire have signed up to take part.
Dean Ayling, from Colin Dean Estate Agents on The Parade, Watford, came up with the idea last year and got local companies to sponsor the event with him.
He said: "Dress Down Day is a fun way to brighten up the dreary month of January and everyone can join in.
"Just wear something silly the opposite of your usual work or school attire! We are asking each participating business, shop or school to pay a registration fee of £25 and for all staff to pay £1 on the day for taking part. It's a great way to have some fun and raise money for a great local cause."
Maggie Grand, corporate development manager, who is organising the event, said: "What makes this event unique is the fact that the local business community is coming together to fundraise for the hospice, helping us to continue to provide care and support to terminally ill patients and their families.
"Our fundraising target for this year is £5,000 and Marks & Spencer in Watford and local bus company, Arriva, have been among the first to sign up. There is plenty of time for more people to take part."
