Indian arts have been the inspiration for a new exhibition by members of Disability Recreation Unity Movement (DRUM), as part of Watford Live!
The show, Passage to India, is the result of a year-long project, which has included art sessions at DRUM and with the Prince’s Trust and Parkgate Junior School. DRUM members have also enjoyed a talk on The Golden Days of Bollywood and a Bollywood dance display by local dance group Dancevibes, also based at Parkgate Community Centre.
Combining traditional rag rugging techniques the groups have been making recycled textile flowers and wall murals.
DRUM’s exhibition goes on show at Hartspring Community Centre, Park Avenue, Bushey on Saturday, June 13 from 1pm to 3pm. The public are invited to join DRUM members to create bunting flowers in St Mary’s Square on Saturday, June 20 from 10am-5pm. Details: 01923 442114
