Kranggg! Bang! Thwack! Bish! Bash! are the sounds that describe covers outfit Kings of Langley. Comprising Campbell (guitar, vocals), Jason (bass), Matt (percussion, vocals), Mikel (lead vocals) and Alex (guitars), each with more than 20 years of experience, these guys certainly know how to rock, but when folk question their age they say: “It used to take fewer rehearsals to remember a tune, but less rockability? Nah!” Bassist Jason adds: “We set out with the clear goal, we were not going to be a Dad rock band” and the band have certainly steered away from the stereotypical churning out of cheesy covers, by re-inventing old time classics like Kings Of Leon’s Red Morning Light and EMF’s Unbelievable. So what makes them different from the rest? “There are not many covers bands I know that belt out Erasure and The Specials in the same set!” says Jason.
Join the Kings of Langley in St Mary’s Square, Watford on Wednesday, June 10 from 6.15pm to 7pm.
