And now for something completely different – live, interactive jazz at Watford’s Bedford Arms.
Organised by Garston-based jazz singer Esta B Daley this ‘Jazz Jam’ on Tuesday night offers accomplished and bedroom musicians alike to join in (jam) with a professional lived outfit.
Speaking ahead of its second night at the Langley Road venue Esta explained: “Our jams are very welcoming. We really don’t mind people making a few mistakes or people just coming along to watch.
“Jazz is such an uplifting type of music – I want to help share it with as many people as possible.
“If people have got a guitar and you want to come up and play then they’re welcome, or if they want to come and sing they’re welcome; if you they to come and play the drums they’re welcome as well. Basically, we welcome everybody. A lot of jazz jams can be very intimidating atmospheres so our main aim is to be as welcoming as possible.
“Our last event was a fantastic success and we hope this will be too.”
Esta’s Jazz Jam begins at 8.30pm. Entry is free of charge.
