Zara the lion cub, one of the youngest residents of Paradise Wildlife Park, hopped on a motorbike to announce a major new bike show for Hertfordshire and the South-East.

Presented by Hertfordshire Biker magazine, Paradise Wildlife Park and the Herts Air Ambulance, the “Bikers In Paradise” show will be held at Paradise Wildlife Park on Sunday, April 26.

Simon Hoggett, managing editor of Hertfordshire Biker magazine said: "The show will be a great day out for bikers and their families. As well as the usual variety of the retail stands and stalls, we are expecting biking and non-biking celebrity guests, classic bikes, stunt riding, a fashion show and much more."

Entrance to the bike show will also include access to the zoo, with a range of animals including an outstanding collection of big cats, the children's adventure world, as well as other on-site attractions such as the UK Speedway Museum.

There will be live music throughout the day, headlined by 80s glam-rock band Modern Romance and supported by girl band Red Blooded Women.

The show will raise funds for the Herts Air Ambulance, which went into service in November 2008 and needs to raise £80,000 every month in order to fly as well as the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, a UK based charity working hard to ensure that the big cat species of the world are protected from extinction.

Nikki Caborn of Herts Air Ambulance said: “We are delighted to be working with Paradise Wildlife Park and Biker Magazine to stage the Bikers in Paradise Show in April, and we are extremely grateful for their support.

“We are expecting the day to be a huge success and look forward to welcoming visitors to help raise funds for the Herts Air Ambulance, a vital service for the people of the County and one which is only possible through the generosity and goodwill of its supporters.”

Tickets cost £9.50 (adult) and £6 (children & concessions). For tickets and further details about the event call 01992 470490 or visit www.bikersinparidise.com.
