Schools across Watford and south west Hertfordshire are preparing to reopen tomorrow, after a day of relative sunshine thawed much of the snow.
Schools across the area were forces to close for a second day today, after freezing overnight temperatures and further snow made for treacherous trips into class.
However, both Watford Grammar School for Boys and Girls have posted messages on their websites today saying the schools will reopen tomorrow, as have Westfield Community Technology College and Francis Combe.
Kings Langley School and Rickmansworth School are also both anticipated to open.
At Bushey Meads, pupils are being allowed to wear trainers or sensible outdoor footwear to counter slippery pavements and paths.
Parents are being advised to check school websites and Hertfordshire County Council’s website for further updates.
More than 6,000 schools across the country were closed today because of the adverse weather conditions.
