FIVE youngsters had to be cut free from a car in the early hours of this morning after it hit a roundabout, ploughed through a garden and came to rest in bushes.
A male driver and four passengers - two males and two females - had to be freed by firefighters after they were trapped in the car following the high-speed crash in Watford Road, Kings Langley, shortly before 12.30am.
All five were rushed to Watford General Hospital where they remain.
Crews from Garston and Hemel Hempstead and retained firefighters from Kings Langley arrived at the scene to find the blue Vauxhall Vectra embedded in bushes and hedgerow in a nearby garden with its passengers unable to move.
It is thought the car was hit a roundabout just off the High Street at such speed that it was forced off the road.
Watch commander at Garston Fire Station Lee Bishop, said: "The car was driving very fast for it to do that much damage.
"The car is totally wrecked. I would be very surprised if the car was any use afterwards - it's a write off."
Firefighters spent an hour-and-a-half at the accident scene, cutting back the hedges and removing the car door in order to free the injured passengers.
