Officers are hoping to trace a man who rifled through a scared teenger's wallet as he innocently sat on a bus in Bushey.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information following the attempted theft on the bus, which was in London Road.
It happened between 5.15pm and 5.35pm on October 27 when the 14-year-old victim and his friend got on the bus.
A man, who was part of a large group, then approached the boy and sat next to him. He asked the boy if he had anything for him and went through his wallet.
The offender eventually went back to his seat after being told by his friends to leave the boy alone. He returned the wallet.
The suspect is described as a black man of stocky build and with black short hair. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms.
