The sun sets early, the temperature has dropped and the autumn leaves are settling on your driveway, the evenings are upon us.
With all the doom and gloom on the television it’s important to inject a little life into your routine.
During a particularly warm shift the other day a customer walked up to the bar and I asked him how his day was.
With all the usual casual witticisms involved in a barman/customer relationship I realised he was telling me a genuine story, and suddenly unfolding in front of us was the importance and character of your local barman, but more so your local pub.
These are places you go to turn your back on your business day and converse over a glass of red, to laugh with your friends over some nibbles and to drink a coffee whilst finishing your crossword.
Most of us have turned the idea of the pub into 2 for 1’s and “it’s a kiddie place”... Turn off the TV, grab your book, take your partner by the hand and get out of the house, head into town and let us look after you.
