Residents of all ages can keep warm in the dark days of winter in Watford while taking part in the town's nature conservation programme.
Residents are invited to join Watford Borough Council at the events listed below.
No previous experience is necessary, as all sessions are lead by an expert leader and all tools and equipment are provided.
Children are also welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Thursday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 19
King George V Nature Reserve: A new nature reserve is being created in West Watford. Join the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) to help plant new woodland and bulbs. Meet at King George V Playing Fields car park, Tolpits Lane, Watford Start at 10.30am.
Tuesday, November 11
Cassiobury Park Local Nature Reserve: Join the Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust to clear scrub to benefit a variety of wildlife, including newts. Meet at Rustic Bridge, near Langley Way park entrance, Watford Start at 10am.
Saturday, November 15
Cassiobury Park Local Nature Reserve: Help the Friends of Cassiobury Park to pick litter and clear vegetation to benefit a variety of wildlife, including newts. Meet at Gade Avenue car park, Cassiobury Park, Watford. Start at 10am.
Wednesday, November 26 and Thursday, November 27

Harebreaks Wood Local Nature Reserve: Join the Friends of Harebreaks Wood to plant trees to mark National Tree Week. Meet at St Mark’s Church, Leggatts Way, Watford. Start at 1.30pm.
