Resurfacing work to improve the condition of Beechen Grove, Watford is due to start tonight.
Hertfordshire Highways will be carrying out the work as part of an ongoing maintenance program. The work will take place over five nights.
Each carriageway will be closed to all traffic overnight, from 7.30pm to 6am, in order to minimize disruption and ensure safety during the roadworks. Signed diversion routes for each closure will be present.
Two weeks after the main works are completed, Hertfordshire Highways will begin friction surfacing, which will take place overnight for four nights from Monday, November 17.
The programme is weather-dependant and may be delayed by bad conditions.
Executive Member for Highways, Transport and Rural Affairs, Stuart Pile, said: “This is essential work, which we need to do to improve the condition of Beechen Grove, for the benefit of all road users some disruption and inconvenience is unavoidable but as ever our highways staff will do everything possible to keep this to a minimum.”
He added: “We ask all road users to take extra care and leave extra time for their journeys and we thank local people and road users in advance for their patience.”
Bus services may be affected by the work. Details will be posted at local bus stops or can be found at www.intalink.org.uk.
