Council staff have teamed up with local thespians to encourage better recycling.
Three Rivers District Council joined members of the Rickmansworth Players this week as they prepared to launch their stage adaptation of Dr Jeckyll and My Hyde at the Watersmeet Theatre.
Their irreverent message is simple: There’s no need to be in two minds about recycling.
The council, which boasts one of the best recycling records in the country, is concerned that residents are inadvertently “contaminating” their recycling bins by not understanding what goes where.
Council recycling officer Jennie Moore said: “There’s no need for people to be in two minds like Dr Jeckyll – just give us a ring about recycling and we’ll be happy to advise or just visit our website.
“The most common confusion is around yoghurt pots and meat trays which unfortunately cannot yet be recycled. Aerosols can also be confusing – these go in the green box with plastic bottles and cans. Most people are getting the paper and glass right.”
The Rickmansworth Players performances (free of a recycling theme) will run from Tuesday, November 11, to Saturday, November 15.
Tickets can be booked on 0844 745 1944 at £14 and £12 concessions.
Recycling queries can be answered on 01923 776611 or by visiting www.threerivers.gov.uk
