A question about former Watford Fields resident, and actor, Terry Scott prompted Mrs A Cottrell to write to Nostalgia.
Mrs Cottrell, of Gaddesden Crescent, Watford, said: “Your question was Tommy Scott – who ran the Leathersellers Arms – related to Terry Scott the comedian, the answer is no.
“My uncle Tommy was born into an army family in Surrey. I do not know what regiment he was in but he served as an officer during World War One.
“In fact, I have a photo of him in uniform taken at my wedding in September 1942 along with other uniformed guests. He was a big, gentle gentleman.”
