Following the 25th anniversary of the date Odhams (Watford) Ltd, the printers, closed its doors, reader Tom Farrell sent Nostalgia this photo.
Mr Farrell, from Beechwood Rise, Watford, said: “During the 1950s and 1960s a thriving social club operated within the town’s largest employer, Odhams, in St Albans Road, now the site of Asda.
“Coach trips, dances, football matches, golf tournaments and raffles, were the regular norm.
“Whether it was a Saturday night dance at Harebreaks Recreation ground or Woodside Stadium, or a day trip to the seaside, the quality of life was very good.
“It was a different era then, everyone knew everybody else, and all would join in and make a contribution.
“Many of the people in these various old photos are still active, and can be spotted in Watford High Street on any given day. Long may it continue.”
