A builder accused of “smashing” a glass in a man’s face after an incident on the dance floor has been found not guilty of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).
Albanian Naim Kameri, 26, was alleged to have “glassed” Richard Doran during a night out in Chicago Rock Café in Watford high street in April.
The Cricklewood man, who has been in the country since 1999, was arrested shortly after the incident, spattered with blood with a gash running from between the thumb to the palm of the hand.
However, he denied attacking Mr Doran, and told St Albans Crown Court he had been punched and kicked by two men who had been bumping into him deliberately on the small dance floor.
During police interview Kameri, who was not legally represented, could remember little of the incident, but said he cut his hand on glass on the floor.
The jury acquitted Kameri after just under two hours of deliberation on Wednesday afternoon.
