Power has been restored to thousands of homes across the east of England, but thousands still remain without electricity.
EDF Energy say they do not know how many people are still affected but estimate it is thousands.
Homes across the district were left in the dark last night from around 7.30pm, with the blame falling on the bad weather which affected some high voltage cables.
Tracey Sparling, an EDF Energy representative, said: "EDF Energy Network engineers continue to work to restore power to remaining customers who are still affected as quickly and as safely as possible.
“We apologise to all those affected for the inconvenience caused by these interruptions to their power supply.”
