The number of people without power in the east of England has risen to thousands.
The heavy snow fall last night damaged high voltage cables which caused the power cut, impacting homes in Watford.
The first customers lost power around 7.30pm night, with many more affected over night.
EDF Energy network engineers began working to restore power last night, but the weather made it a tough task.
Extra teams have now been drafted in.
Tracey Sparling, a spokeswoman for EDF Energy, said: “The scale of the problem rose over night.
“We are working to restore power to those customers still affected as quickly as possible.
“We would like to apologise to all those customers who have been affected by interruptions to their power supply.”
