A millionaire businessman has won tens of thousands of pounds in damages from a film company which damaged his home.
Double-glazing entrepreneur Glen Haysman was awarded £79,000 by the High Court today (Tuesday) for damage caused in the shooting of James Bond star Daniel Craig’s latest film, Flashbacks of a Fool .
Mr Haysman, owner of Glen’s Windows and Doors, was furious to discover heavy damage to the interior and exterior of his Rickmansworth home after lending it to production company Mrs Rogers Films in July 2007.
Mr Haysman successfully argued that the damage, including holes in his driveway and a lost decanter top, had been caused by the company.
The entrepreneur - whose four-bed home is fitted with a swimming pool, hot-tub and rare collection of '60s and '70s "retro" items - said the filming had "wrecked" the property.
The damage, he added, had left him unable to entertain on his previous scale, which has in the past included hosting 300-strong charitable functions"for MENCAP.
He told a previous hearing: “I don't feel proud when people come to my home and see my drive," adding that the sorry state of his drive now attracted Gypsies who come knocking on his door asking if they can carry out repairs.
