Land at the redundant Bill Everett Centre Community in Watford (BECC) has been declared “surplus to requirements” and formally put up for sale.
The decision was formally ratified by Hertfordshire County Council’s cabinet committee yesterday and means the 2.7 acre plot of land will now be able to be sold for redevelopment.
The land, which is likely to be sold to a housing developer, will pocket the county council around £3m - of which just over £1m would be handed to Watford Borough Council as part of an agreement.
