Watford nature fans willing to get their hands muddy can help preserve local parks this month during a council conservation programme.
Residents of all ages with any, or no, level of experience, have been invited to a series of events run by “expert leaders” who will provide tips and tools.
On Saturday, a litter picking and vegeatation clearing event in Cassiobury Park will start in the Gade Car Park at 10am.
On the following Saturday, October 25, the Friends of Albans Wood will visit the wood to identify fungi during a walk.
The same day, a clean up of the river Colne will start at the Watford Rugby Club, Knutsford Playing Fields, Radlett Road, Watford at 10.30am.
On Thursday, October 30, a new nature reserve is being created by the King George V Playing Fields. The event starts at the playing fields car park, in Tolpits Lane, Watford at 10.30am.
People taking part are asked to bring suitable clothing and should telephone 01923 278 333 befor setting off to make sure trhe events are taking place.
