NOISY neighbours have been the subject of a four-month council and police operation in Bushey, Radlett and Aldenham.
Special Constables from Hertfordshire Constabulary have been working with environmental health officers from Hertsmere Borough Council to help stamp out noise nuisance in the area.
Named Operation Reprise, the pilot scheme has seen teams being deployed from 10pm to 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Chief Superintendent Dave Wharton said: “Noise nuisance is very high on the list of complaints from members of the public and, although it is not solely the police’s responsibility, we have adopted a partnership approach to deal robustly with it.”
Councillor Jean Heywood, Hertsmere Borough Council’s portfolio holder for environment, said: “This is a fantastic scheme and really shows what partnership working can achieve.
“I myself have been out on one of the patrols and was very impressed by the scheme, how worthwhile it is and what a positive effect it can have on a community.”
