I rose with the lark this morning in order to see the Woodside Morris Men welcome in May as the sun rose behind the trees in Cassiobury Park.
I cycled along the canal at 5am and caught the team as they danced away with their sticks and handkerchiefs in the park, near to the bridge over the canal.
It may have been very early, but I enjoyed cycling around with most of the roads and the whole canal towpath to myself.
My only neighbour on the towpath was a heron and after years and years of watching these majestic birds while speeding past on my bike, thinking do they ever actually catch a fish, I saw one dive into the water and emerge with a small fish between its beak and a satisfied look on its face.
Cycling back home, I arrived at 6.20am and jumped straight back into bed. Bliss.
