I don't tend to give much of a second glance to so-called charity muggers who work in packs on street corners to rob you of your hard-earned cash.
But this weekend was different. Maybe because it was Easter, maybe it was because I wasn't in Watford, maybe because it was sunny.
I was cycling through Castle Park in Bristol and was flagged down by a representative of Sustrans - a charity committed to sustainable transport who are best known for being the coordinators of the National Cycle Network.
After a brief chat with my new friend David, I found myself signing a Direct Debit form. And I hope a glow will warm my heart as money is deducted from my account every month because Sustrans is a great organisation.
I have used this blog in the past to highlight how brilliant the Ebury Way and Colne Valley Cycle Routes are. Now I am not just riding on them, but contributing to them in my own little way.
