I may not have even made it up the aisle yet but I'm sad to say I'm most definitely a sports widow. It doesn't matter what time of day or night, if Jay is home the TV is switched to Sky Sports.
And it doesn't seem to matter what sport is on, he will watch it avidly. Football is always the first choice, and don't get me wrong, I'm not adverse to watching 22 men in shorts battle it out for 90 minutes myself. But I rapidly lose interest when they're not my local team and not even from my own country. I get confused by all the different European cups and confusion soon leads to boredom and disinterest.
But the sport that's really got me snoring at the moment is the cricket. I've never understood it and choose not to learn the rules whenever Jay attempts to enlighten me. The Cricket World Cup seems to have been going on forever with seemingly no end in sight and I'm tired of the TV being switched over in the middle of EastEnders so he can 'just check on the score'.
