WATFORD'S MAN-OF-THE-MATCH: No one that outstanding.
CONDITIONS: Dry and chilly.
ATTENDANCE: 17,087. (Watford contingent: 507. No problems).
REFEREE: Neale Barry (Scunthorpe). Appeared to handle the game well in the first-half, although the frustrated Wednesday fans gave him a hard time for little reason. He gave the home side 14 free-kicks and Watford one in the second-half, which was not a fair reflection. As it transpired, Alec Chamberlain's foul was in the box, not just outside as first suspected.
ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: Certainly enough incidents to keep the paying public awake.
CRINGE-MAKING MOMENT: Waiting to see what coloured card Alec Chamberlain received.
HIGHLIGHT MOMENT: Jason Norville's dummy, run and unexpectedly clinical finish.
CLEAR-CUT CHANCES: Watford 2 (Smith 1, Norville 1), Wednesday 4 (Westwood 1, Bradbury 1, Reddy 1, Maddix 1).
ASSISTS: Vernazza; none.
