Generous supporters have raised £60,000 for West Herts Hospitals Charity's breast cancer appeal.
The charity is now urging the community and businesses to help them reach their first milestone of £100,000.
This will fund the purchase of a Savi Scout Surgical Guidance System, a technology set to 'revolutionise' breast cancer treatment for patients.
The breast cancer appeal, which is being supported by the Watford Observer and its sister title, the Herts Advertiser, aims to raise £200,000 to fund two Savi Scout systems.

These devices use radar technology to detect and accurately locate cancer within a one-millimetre range, allowing the removal of cancerous tissue.
This equipment will be housed at St Albans City Hospital, serving patients from across West Herts, including those from Watford.
Alison Rosen, charity CEO at West Herts Hospitals, said: "We are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our supporters, whose efforts are driving real change in breast cancer treatment locally.
"These donations will bring cutting-edge technology to our community and improve the care we can offer our patients."
Other recent fundraising successes from the appeal include £31,000 raised by the 'Titty Trail' sponsored walk and an anonymous trust which pledged £5,000.
