Watford residents are being reminded that they will need to put their bins out on different days over the Christmas period to avoid missing collections.

The borough council has confirmed that bin collections will be different to normal from December 25 to January 13.

Residents can expect to have their waste picked up either one or two days later, depending on the week, unless they would normally have it collected on the Friday.

See the full list of dates below:

Week one:

  • Wednesday, December 25 collections will move to Friday, December 27
  • Thursday, December 26 collections will move to Saturday, December 28
  • Friday, December 27 collections will move to Monday, December 30

Week two:

  • Monday, December 30 collections will move to Tuesday, December 31
  • Tuesday, December 31 collections will move to Thursday, January 2
  • Wednesday, January 1 collections will move to Friday, January 3
  • Thursday, January 2 collections will move to Saturday, January 4
  • Friday, January 3 collections will move to Monday, January 6

Collection dates will change from December 25 until early January.

Week three:

  • Monday, January 6 collections will move to Tuesday, January 7
  • Tuesday, January 7 collections will move to Wednesday, January 8
  • Wednesday, January 8 collections will move to Thursday, January 9
  • Thursday, January 9 collections will move to Friday, January 10
  • Friday, January 10 collections will move to Saturday, January 11

Real Christmas tree collections for recycling will start on January 6.

Residents will be able to put two extra bas of waste out for the first collection after Christmas.
