A group of councillors have helped a charity prepare bags of essentials for elderly residents in need.

The 11 Liberal Democrat councillors joined the Small Acts of Kindness charity, in North Watford, to prepare the bags containing warm clothing, soup, and tea for residents in need.

"Small Acts of Kindness is doing amazing work distributing practical gifts bags to older people to reduce loneliness and isolation.

"It's a privilege for us as councillors to volunteer to help make a difference and support this initiative."

The Liberal Democrat councillors involved with packing the charity bags on Saturday were Jennifer Pattinson, Peter Kloss, Richard Short, Sham Begum, Penelope Hill, Karen Clarke-Taylor, Amanda Grimston, Gabriel Duduta, Charlott Saunders, Sohail Bashir, and Tom Osborn.

It aims to provide comfort and practical assistance to older residents throughout the winter.

The charity was awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2021 for its work in the community.
