A major road in Watford has undergone a revamp to boost "business and active travel".

Whippendell Road Parade has been enhanced by Watford Borough Council between Southsea Avenue and Burton Avenue, and between Durban Road and Park Avenue.

The improvements, which include new high-quality paving and refreshed business frontages, are part of the council's ongoing programme to revitalise community business hubs.

Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "I’m thrilled to see the completion of these improvements on Whippendell Road.

"The parade upgrades across the town are a key part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing Watford and ensuring it continues to be a vibrant, accessible town where local businesses can thrive, and residents and visitors feel welcome.

"Enhancing our public spaces ensures that every area benefits, supporting a stronger, more connected community for all."
