A Turkish restaurant and two neighbouring shops are applying for permission to sell alcohol.

Details of the applications made by Sizzle N Fizzle, in St Albans Road, and the two premises in Prestwick Road, South Oxhey, have been published in the Public Notice Portal which is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.

An application by a leading builders’ merchants to keep ten goods vehicles at its base in Watford has also been posted in the portal, while temporary speed restrictions are set to be introduced on a major road.

St Albans Road, Watford – premises licence

A new Turkish restaurant is applying for permission to sell alcohol and for its proposed opening hours to be approved.

Sizzle 'n Fizzle Ltd has asked Watford Borough Council to grant a premises licence for its restaurant at 202 St Albans Road, Watford, Herts, WD24 4AS.

The proposed licensable activities are: restaurant sale of alcohol on the premises and opening hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8am until 11pm; Friday and Saturday, 8am to midnight including late night refreshment and recorded music; 11pm New Year’s Eve to 1.30am New Year’s Day.

Tolpits Lane, Watford – goods vehicle operator’s licence

A national builder’s merchants company wants to keep ten goods vehicles as its premises in Watford.

Travis Perkins Trading Company LTD, trading as Travis Perkins of Lodge Way House, Lodge Way, Lodge Farm Industrial Estate, Harlestone Road, Northampton, NN5 7UG is applying to change its existing licence.

If approved, it will be allowed to keep ten goods vehicles at Tolpits Lane, Watford, WD18 9RN.

Owners or occupiers of the land near the operating centre wishing to make written representations should send these to the Traffic Commissioner, Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE.

Hempstead Road, Watford – temporary speed restrictions

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on the A411 Hempstead Road, Watford from its junction with Grove Mill Lane north westwards to its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/A41 Hempstead Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 856m, when signs are in place because works are due to take place.

If made, the order will come into force on December 9 and be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.

Prestwick Road, South Oxhey – premises licence

A convenience store in South Oxhey is applying for permission to sell alcohol.

Rajesh Kerai has applied to Three Rivers District Council for a new premises licence at Premier Food and Wine Corner, 317–319 Prestwick Road, South Oxhey, WD19 6UT.

If granted, the sale and supply of alcohol will be permitted from 8am to 10pm, Mondays to Sundays.

Mr Kerai has also applied for a new premises licence at South Oxhey News Express, 311 Prestwick Road, South Oxhey, WD19 6UT.

If approved, the sale and supply of alcohol will be allowed from 7am to 10pm, Mondays to Sundays.
