Thieves stole tools from a van 10 feet from where the victims were carrying out on a school.
Herts Police have appealed for information via their Herts Connected site after the theft, between 12pm and 1pm on Wednesday (November 27) was reported.
The offenders are believed to have climbed over a wall to access the van inside a gated car park at Christ Church C of E School, off Rickmansworth Road, Chorleywood.
Tools including power drills, circular saws, batteries, and other drills were taken while the victim was carrying out work “about 10 feet away”.

Separately, Herts Police have also asked for information on a burglary in Little Hill, Chorleywood, on the same day.
Between 4.20pm and 4.50pm, an offender (possibly multiple offenders) is believed to have got into a property by jemmying the kitchen window open before ransacking the bedrooms.
“A number of items” were taken and they left via the patio door which had been opened with a key that was already in the lock.
A neighbour’s CCTV shows that they climbed over the back garden wall at 4.50pm.
