Plans have been unveiled that would see 150 homes built on green belt land near Kings Langley.
Silversaw Limited, Hill Group and JTP architects are proposing a new neighbourhood on land to the north of Chipperfield Road, made up of two to five-bedroom homes.
The site is close to both Kings Langley Secondary School and the A41.
The project's website says 35 per cent of these will be classed as "affordable", with it also including plans for new cycling paths and play areas.
A description of the proposal states: "This neighbourhood is much more than just a housing development.
"It is a chance to create a living, breathing partnership between business, social enterprise and education to enrich both the community and the land on which it will thrive."
The 9.6-hectare site is currently designated as Green Belt, raising eyebrows for those opposed to development on such land.

Since its General Election victory in July, Labour has committed to extensive planning reform, including building on so-called "brownfield" land. The scheme's website cites a letter from Housing Secretary Angela Rayner, in which she claimed Britain faces “the most acute housing crisis in living memory”.
Community events are being held at Kings Langley Secondary School today and tomorrow (November 29 and 30), ahead of a planning application being submitted before the end of the year.
The development team says it is "actively engaging" with both the Sunnyside Rural Trust and Kings Langley Secondary School, promising to provide onsite learning and therapeutic services.
A social media post about the plans drew criticism and concern from residents, with one hitting out at "another pending proposal on Green Belt with no sensible solutions for traffic management or amenities (schools, doctors etc)".
The concerns come after the recent sale of Rectory Farm to Cala Homes in a £23m deal, which went through after a controversial appeal to build 135 homes on the 16-acre site.
If the Chipperfield Road application proves successful, developers are hoping to begin work on the scheme in 2027.
The project team has been approached for comment.
